How do I assign a player to a lane?

I mistakenly sold my mid laner after buying another who was much better, but everything tells me I do not own the player I had bought. Do I need to register the player I bought with my team or something? He already shows up in my roster, but he isn't actually dedicated to a lane.

You can change it in your strategy page.

I tried this but it tells me "Player 0 with role mid does not belong to your team."

Hey, I fixed it for you, but you had to resave your strategy again actually because the player didn't automatically go into the role despite it showing as if it was in the select. The UX can be currently messy about it though so the issue is understandable.
