Question on champion Pick and Ban order (Strategy)

From the "About" section:

Pick/bans in lolmanager work by a priority system, where after bans are locked in teams will cycle through their priority lists, picking up the next available champion.

It is not made clear whether the system checks which team has first pick. If I have X champion number one on my priority pick list but for some reason don't want the opposing team to pick and put it in number one of the ban list, will my player get to play the champion on the games my team has first pick?

If anyone can answer I'd be really grateful.

Your bans go first before your picks so if you ban it you can't pick it. Both teams ban 2 players and then pick 5 alternating for both.

Really huh? I suspected so. Damn that's kinda disappointing. Hope they reconsider this and make it closer to reality, even if there is no "OP" champions counted for in this game. People can still theorize what's popular and what everyone else has in their pick priority lists so they can either pick it themselves or ban it.
